Atlas Carimate

Planned in the 1950s on a green area belonging to an ancient aristocratic estate on the initiative of the Società Generale Immobiliare based in Rome, this development alongside the old core of Carimate embodied the utopia of the urban upper middle-classes. The operation is one of the frequent attempts to combine residential development with a golf club, but stands out for its quality and virtuous effort to involve leading figures on the modern national architectural scene. The way it is immersed in greenery, with sinuous paths and hedges for screening suggests the aspiration to an idyllic, exclusive and controlled living environment.
