This is the most iconic building in Como. Set in a place where the layers of the city’s history overlap (cathedral, theatre, city walls, railway), viewed from the Piazza del Popolo (at that time Piazza del Impero), it stands out against the green hill of Brunate. Organized around a central court, it is a parallelepiped with pure forms, enhanced by the whiteness of the slabs of Botticino marble that face all its surfaces.
