Atlas Lido

The varied and distinctive forms of the shores of the lake and its mild climate have favoured the spread of tourism since the 19th century, with wealthy upper middle-class tourists, and the provision of accommodation mainly along the banks of the first basin and central lake. Water has also left its mark on the sporting life of the inhabitants of the lake: there are numerous bathing facilities, with the lidos and headquarters of clubs that have altered the design of the shores of Lake Como. The Lido di Bellagio is an example of rationalist architecture, built on the site of a late 19th-century complex named “Bagni Volta”.
