In the territory there are numerous examples of spaces, set in independent structures or attached to larger buildings, intended for storing food in the warm season by using ice and snow accumulated in winter. The icehouse at Orimento is a typologically significant example. To ensure better insulation only the entrance is above ground. The small building has a circular plan and is made of local stone. From the entrance a staircase resting against the wall leads down to the bottom.
